To support National Transit Database (NTD) safety and security (S&S) event reporters with on-time and accurate reporting, an updated policy manual is available for reference.
As a reminder, FTA issued a safety bulletin to transit agencies that receive certain FTA funding with important deadlines for reporting safety and security events to the NTD:

Major Event Report (S&S-40) is due no later than 30 days after the event date.

Non-Major Monthly Summary Report (S&S-50) is due by the end of each month.
FTA relies on timely safety and security data to carry out its safety oversight programs effectively. For questions about reporting events to the NTD, contact your S&S analyst whose contact information is at the top of the S&S Report Package in the NTD online reporting system.
